1. Glimpse of Nepal, Tibet and Bhutan – 2 weeks

This is the shortest and most comfortable package for exploring the three Himalayan jewels. Fly to Paro, Bhutan from Kathmandu, Nepal and explore the peaceful Dzongs and monasteries of Thimphu and Paro. After spending 3 nights in Bhutan, fly back to Kathmandu and visit Pokhara and Chitwan, known as the Golden Triangle tour of Nepal. We will apply for a final group visa at the Chinese embassy in the meantime. Fly to Lhasa and explore the bastion of Tibetan Buddhism restricted for a long time. Fly back to Kathmandu after 3 nights in Lhasa.

2.       Nepal Tibet Bhutan Tour – 3 weeks
This is another popular tour of the three Himalayan gems. This longer tour visits Tibet overland from Kathmandu to Lhasa with a detour to Everest North Base Camp and Punakha Valley in Bhutan in addition to Paro and Thimpu. The golden triangle tour (Kathmandu, Chitwan, Pokhara) of Nepal is planned in between the tour of Bhutan and Tibet.

How does your visa for these three countries work?

Traveling across Nepal, Tibet, and Bhutan requires careful visa planning. All countries have different visa procedures. Here is how our visas for the three countries are arranged:

Nepal: Travelers from most countries can obtain a Nepal visa on arrival at Kathmandu airport or at major land border crossings. The process is straightforward and simply requires a valid passport and recent photos. A 15 days visa costs USD 30 and the one month visa costs USD 50.

Tibet: Tibetan visa has to be pre-arranged by a registered tour operator after getting Tibet Travel Permits. The visa is included in the above package tour. A Tibet visa is given on paper for a minimum number of people. Even though it is processed weeks before the visit, travelers still have to be present at the Chinese embassy in Kathmandu and register biometrics. At certain times, European citizens are exempted from visa requirements, but the tour still has to be processed through a travel agency.

Bhutan: Bhutan also requires a visa issued through a licensed Bhutanese tour operator. Both of the above packages include a Bhutan visa. You will simply fly with a copy of the letter of visa approval from Kathmandu and get your passport stamped on arrival at the Paro airport.

Best Time to Travel:

The touring places in all of the three countries range from tropical lowland to trans-Himalayan alpine desert, which hosts varied climate zones. However, August – November and April – May are the ideal time to visit. These months offer moderate weather with the clearest skies, comfortable temperatures, and lively festivals. While spring comes late in the arid plateau of Tibet (August and September), Bhutan and Nepal in the southern slopes of the Himalayas become colorful with varied flowers during March and April. May and August are hot and humid with some precipitation in Nepal and Bhutan; it is the best time for the Tibet tour as it is in the rain shadow of the Himalayas.
